The official and public debut of the new generation of the Hyundai i10 hatchback will take place in the coming days of September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Nevertheless, the manufacturer could not resist and decided to prematurely show the novelty to the public. The hatchback was fully engineered in Europe, both in design and performance. Nevertheless, according to the reviews of motorists, the novelty turned out to be not as bright and attractive as the previously presented public sketch. However, the new generation Hyundai i10 looks sportier than the generation currently on sale.

The new 5-door Hyundai hatchback has a fresh grille, wider wheel arches, modern 16 ″ alloy wheels and a sports exhaust, with two tailpipes under the rear bumper. If we talk about the dimensions of the Hyundai i10, then they have practically not changed. The wheelbase is the same - 2385 mm, the length has not changed either - 3665 mm. With all this, the width of the hatchback has increased by 20 mm (1680 mm), the height is also less by 20 m (1480 mm). With these dimensions, the luggage compartment volume is 252 liters as standard. Thanks to the change in the dimensions of the body and its understatement, the drag coefficient decreased from 0.32 to 0.31. The interior of the updated hatchback looks a little unusual, the central part was taken under the 8 "touchscreen display of the multimedia system. According to company representatives, the system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The list of comfort features includes wireless charging for smartphones. Another plus in the standard set is the ability to control the hatchback functions using a smartphone. For example, adjusting the temperature of the climate control, tuning the audio system and remote starting the engine.

Security systems were not left aside, the hatchback received the maximum package of systems in its class. Including included the most modern complex of active security systems Hyundai SmartSence. Standard systems include:

  • emergency braking;
  • pedestrian detection;
  • monitoring of the driver's condition;
  • overspeed warning;
  • lane retention;
  • automatic switching of high and low beam;
  • Rear View Camera;
  • front and rear parking sensors.

The first copies of the third-generation Hyundai i10 will be offered to the buyer with two gasoline units of the MPi family. The first version is a three-cylinder, 1.0-liter. The power is 67 horses, and the maximum torque is 96 Nm. The second unit for 4 cylinders, a volume of 1.2 liters (power 83 hp and 118 Nm of torque). See also the 2017 Hyundai i10 review.
