Bentley plans to launch a new Continental Super Sport model with over 650 horsepower. The model will be launched in 2014 as a new high-performance flagship.

The lighter model is expected to receive such new features: a carbon fiber panel, stiffer suspension and possibly a reclining cab, plus more power from a new twin-turbo W12 engine (twelve-cylinder).

The super sport model began production in the fall of 2009, which characterizes the previous generation Continental GT, but the new car will be a long-term model for the next generation.

The Supersports will act as a bridge between the existing 616 (horsepower) - "Speed" model with the eagerly awaited 675 plus all over the world. Bentley plans to launch the 675 Plus in 2015. Compared to Porsche, which often produces low horsepower models, the Supersports generation is more likely to be equipped with a relatively good engine and thus increase speed. “There is a limit to how much power can be recovered, so Supersports cannot be said to be about a vehicle with maximum clean energy output, ”said a Bentley spokesman.

In turn, the rest of its improvements were aimed at reducing the weight of the car, to obtain the highest speed and maneuverability, the chassis was also revised and the braking system was improved.

All changes will focus on the improved steering of the car, solid building up of a sports turbine exhaust. These improvements aim to mark the Super Sport as a targeted vehicle for very comfortable handling.

To reduce the weight of the car, Bentley plans to install carbon fiber body panels, light passenger seats and possibly remove the rear seats, making the car a two-seater.
