The reason for the long travel of the clutch actuator:

Typically, the reason for checking the clutch pedal travel is to replace the clutch cable. After replacing the cable, this adjustment must be made 100%. There may also be other reasons for this: the lining of the clutch disc has worn out over time and requires replacement, and with this the pedal travel has increased. It is allowed that the travel of the clutch drive on a VAZ 2110 car is no more than 160 mm. Good performance if the pedal travel is within 120-130 mm (the distance of the clutch pedal depressed to that pressed into the mat until it stops). Measured with an ordinary long ruler. The procedure is not complicated and allows one car owner to cope without the help of others.

Clutch Pedal Adjustment:

1. Before starting work, put the car on a level area on the hand brake and remove one terminal from the minus contact from the battery.

2. To check the distance of travel of the clutch actuator - apply a straight edge perpendicular to the pedal and the floor. It should be measured from the floor to the beginning of the rubberized pads on the pedals, and if it is 160 mm or more, then the distance of the clutch pedal should be adjusted.

3. To adjust the drive, open the hood of the car and find the bottom of the fastening of the metal clutch cable with the pedal. At the end of the cable there are two nuts (1,2) - the first lock nut must be significantly unscrewed, and the second must be tightened to the required free travel of the clutch pedal (within 120 and 130 millimeters).

The pedal travel will increase when loosening the nut (2) and decrease when tightening it.

4. Now press the clutch pedal 3-4 times to the stop and release, then again check the value of the pedal travel from the floor to the rubber pad of the pedal with a ruler.

5. If necessary, then again adjust the actuator stroke with the nut and then tighten it back to the stop against the second adjusting nut - the locknut.

6. Next, slide the rubber stop sleeve into the fork to the end.

That's all, the clutch pedal adjustment with your own hands is finished, good luck and don't break anymore!
