Auto concern Chery has taken seriously the intention to update its lineup. This compact, budget model is not going to amaze with original forms, but it may interest many. Moreover, the world famous Mira, AVL, Bosch and other companies are taking part in the development of cars. This should be a testament to high safety, smooth engine performance and excellent suspension settings. Is this so, or are famous companies filonating?

Apparently, not many specialists were busy with the appearance of the new Cherie A19. The sedan is as simple as a pretty housewife who rushed out for milk at the store around the corner. Quite modern design, due to the wide front bumper and stern with volume stamps. No hints of elegance and high cost. Apparently this fact and decided the final fate of the car, putting on it the stigma "budget".
The dimensions of the sedan are too big. It outgrew all of its predecessors and stretched to 4450 mm. The width, excluding the mirrors, was 1748 mm, and the height was 1493 mm. The wheelbase is 2570 mm. The curb weight of the car is 1279 kg.

Internal clothing can make up for imperfections in appearance. Despite the fact that cheap plastic prevails in the cabin, there is no unpleasant smell. What is surprising and commendable, because the Chinese do not bother too much with this. Five-seater salon, covered with fabric. But the top versions offer the attention of buyers a salon made of artificial leather. Everything is done quite well, especially considering the price of the car. The front panel has no significant drawbacks. Free access to all buttons and levers. In theory, the low placement of the "mechanics" lever could be a disadvantage.

The digital panel contains all the information you need. And all would be fine, but the inscriptions Card and Storage Box seem to emphasize the cheapness of the surrounding cabin.
The interior is spacious enough. Hyundai Solaris has the same axle spacing, but it feels much more modest on the inside. Chery A19 gives freedom to the knees for passengers. Even a very long-legged person can be accommodated without problems and inconveniences. The sofa is filled with sufficiently high quality materials, with comfortable rigidity and geometry of seating.
The driver was not so lucky with the ergonomics of the seat. It is set too high, if you do not reinstall it, the effect of the Nightingale-Robber appears, perched on the top of a tree and looking down at the steering wheel. But since they put the driver so high, why did they fix the gear lever somewhere below? The steering range is very modest, and the pedals make the joints ache, after a couple of kilometers.
Soundproofing is high, but when driving on country roads, stones beat too intrusively in the wheel arches.

The trunk of Chery A19 2014 is capable of accommodating a weighty 508 liters. But the hinges on the lid protrude so deeply into the interior, and the rear sofa forms a step that it will be difficult to place really big things in it. The raised floor hid the spare wheel and tool kit.
Also, on the trunk lid of Chery A19 (in China E3) there are no handles for opening and a larva for a key! It opens only by pressing a button on the key fob, and how it opens, it immediately shoots up like a cannonball ... in short, how it will work in winter and in limited space is still unknown to us. But we can already say that the Chinese idea turned out to be not so effective and practical.

Chery A19 received only one available engine - a 4-cylinder aspirated 1.5 liter. It was developed by AVL engineers and produces 109 horsepower at a maximum of 6,000 rpm. For the mass of a sedan of 1279 kg, this is extremely small, and the unit has absolutely no character. At the bottom, the engine feels a sharp lack of traction and everything is aggravated by an uninformative clutch pedal. A slight pickup is felt after 4500 rpm, but I really don't want to bring the engine to such resounding rpm. Listening to annoying noise along the way is exhausting.
It turns out a little disappointment, since when you touch the gas pedal, the car briskly comes to life, but it will be impossible to achieve fast acceleration. Overtaking every car on the track, at least at a speed of 90 km / h, becomes a test, again due to the lack of traction.
The Chery A19 suspension should be, if not the ultimate dream, then at least well thought out, because the hard workers from Lotus and MIRA were working on it. But apparently they weren't in the mood. Although the clearance was made 151 mm. The steering wheel, without a distinct amplification, conveys the entire road picture in the form of twitching, bumps and vibrations. You can ride with your eyes closed and then outline the path in vivid detail. Hard driving, however, did not affect the quality of the suspension - it does not break through even on the most insidious bumps. Made straight especially for Russian and Ukrainian roads!
But, despite all the shortcomings, Chery A19 has a significant mission. The car became the firstborn of a model line with huge ambitions. The lineup is being prepared to revolutionize world opinion about Chery. Manufacturers are confident that the Ambition Line will assure everyone that the "Chinese" have become solid and reliable cars, in the creation of which world leaders take part.

The price for Chery A19 2014 starts at 420 thousand rubles (Basic version). In Ukraine, you can buy it for UAH 160,000. In China, this model has already been christened with the name E3 and it is possible that this will soon happen in the Russian markets. The kit includes - front airbags, on-board computer, audio system that supports USB / AUX, ABS, EBD system, electric windows, heated side mirrors, air conditioning.
In the top version (Comfortable), the price of which starts from 469 thousand rubles, there will be not only an interior covered with artificial leather, but also other advantages. They will include - rear parking sensors, climate control, multifunctional leather steering wheel and alloy wheels.
In general, the Chery A19 (E3) model has really become better and better quality. But the price for the model is equal to the cost of the Logan, which is several times higher than the quality of Chery. The only task that the manufacturers have coped with is the power, which is many times higher than the opponents. Whether the purchase is worth it is up to each driver individually to decide. But the price, which is less than 14 thousand dollars for a sedan, justifies itself 100%!
