The official appearance of the new generation of the premium Porsche Cayenne in 2018 did not particularly impress fans. There was a feeling that the designers left the front part unchanged, minimally modified the new product on the side and added modern technologies at the back. In fact, all this was done in order to preserve the design that everyone loved and to bring the car as close as possible to competitors in terms of modern technologies.

As already mentioned, if an inexperienced car enthusiast looks at the new generation of Porsche Cayenne, he may not be able to distinguish it from the third version. The designers have practically copied the front and side parts of the 3s from the previous 2nd generation. In fact, it was not done so easily. The manufacturer tried in every possible way to keep the design so beloved by customers, while adding a maximum of modern technologies. In total, the buyer was offered 5 basic configurations, which differ from each other minimally, added chrome elements or improved details.

Thanks to the refinements of the designers, the optics and the front bumper have become more expressive. Optics acquired 4 split lenses connected to one headlight. Depending on the wishes of the buyer and the configuration of the new Porsche Cayenne, the headlights can be simply LED or fully matrix with a full package of modern functions. Following the optics, the front bumper was changed, the central part was taken under the massive radiator grill, with horizontal inserts. The side parts of the bumper were taken under additional air intakes. I would like to note right away that depending on the configuration, the main part of the bumper will change.

Small changes were made to the hood of the crossover. The lines have become strict, and the center section has been raised in relation to the side parts of the hood. The emblem of the company, in the form of a shield, remained unchanged, although there were repeated rumors that they wanted to modernize it.

As for the side section of the Porsche Cayenne, it remains the same. The designers decided not to change the design details, only made the lines stricter and refined individual elements. There are still rear-view mirrors on the door panel, complete with cameras, LED turn signal repeaters, electric adjustment and other functions. The body color of the new Porsche Cayenne can be very different, from seasoned shades to bright options, including two-tone.

The sporty character of the Cayenne crossover is given by a plastic body kit. Depending on the wishes of the buyer or configuration, it can be black or painted in the body color. Wheels for 19 ″ and more are also offered at the buyer's choice. Otherwise, there are no special differences.

The feed of the new Porsche Cayenne received a lot more changes. The feet received LED technology and are interconnected by a thin LED line. It is this detail that most of all distinguishes the new generation from the previous version. Otherwise, minor improvements were made to the rear bumper and spoiler at the top of the rear window.

The last detail of the crossover is the roof. It can be either solid, with stiffening ribs, or a hatch or a panorama. Depending on the configuration, roof rails can also be installed for attaching an additional trunk. In total, there is a two-faced impression about the appearance, at first glance there are no differences, on the other hand there are differences, while the recognizable and beloved design of the previous generation is preserved.

The interior of the new SUV

If the appearance of the new Porsche Cayenne crossover resembles the previous generation to many, then the interior of the novelty is largely borrowed from the Panamera. The central part of the panel stands out the most, the designers have added a large 12.3 ″ display of the multimedia system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems served as the basis for multimedia. The pair also includes a Wi-Fi access point, mobile communications and many other modern technologies.

Above the display, a branded clock and a pair of air ducts were placed. A couple more air ducts are located under the main display. It is worth noting that this is the entire center console, since most of the buttons are located on the center tunnel, near the gear lever. Most of the buttons are touch-sensitive, in particular, the controls for heated seats, climate control and security systems are located here. The very same gear lever Porsche Cayenne received a classic shape, indicating the gears in the end. Moving through the central tunnel of the Porsche Cayenne, you can find a pair of cup holders, a cigarette lighter and a spacious armrest. For the convenience of second-row passengers, the armrest is equipped with a climate control panel on the reverse side, and as an option, you can add displays to the front seat headrests.

Now about the interior of the new Porsche Cayenne, regardless of the configuration and characteristics, the car is designed for 5 seats. It should be noted right away that the seats themselves may differ between trim levels, from comfortable to hard sports options. The front seats of the crossover received an electric adjustment, memory for three settings modes, as well as other functions for premium cars.

As for the second row of Porsche Cayenne seats, three passengers will be able to sit freely here. There is plenty of free space around the knees and head. In terms of functional filling, the second row can also be equipped with heating, ventilation, electric adjustment and memory. The designers used only high-quality materials (leather, alcantara, suede and others) as the material for the interior trim of the Porsche Cayenne. Standard color options are offered at the buyer's choice:

This is a minimal list of what the new Porsche Cayenne can offer to the buyer. They also offer a choice of adding embossing on the skin, various embroidery and stitching to match the body color.

Finally, it is worth considering the driver's seat. As with the general look of the Porsche Cayenne's interior, there is a lot to see here. The instrument panel can be either fully analog or digital. At the heart of the digital dashboard, a pair of combined 7 ″ screens were used, while the tachometer will remain analog, which means that a completely digital tidy cannot be called. Although it does not look as stylish and modern as, for example, in the Audi Q7 or the new Volkswagen Touareg.

Following the tidy, updates came to the steering wheel of the Porsche Cayenne. It is based on three knitting needles, two of which are reserved for function buttons. The central part is occupied by the corporate emblem in the form of a shield, and behind the wheel there is a whole arsenal for managing comfort. The Porsche Cayenne steering wheel can be adjusted both in height and depth using an electric drive. High-quality leather with small stitching on the inside was used as upholstery.The interior of the new generation of Porsche Cayenne really looks rich, modern technologies, expensive upholstery materials and, of course, sustained style.

The variety of Porsche Cayenne engines is not just a list, but the characteristics of each configuration. It is the heart of the crossover that distinguishes the novelty. The choice of the buyer was offered with conventional, charged and hybrid engines. In tandem with the units, an automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system work. A total of 5 different variations and engines of the new Porsche Cayenne are available.

As you can see, the fuel consumption of the gasoline and hybrid versions of the Porsche Cayenne is significantly different, despite the fact that the hybrid installation is based on the same internal combustion engines, as in the regular version of the crossover. In terms of size, the new product will not differ when comparing the configuration.

The basis for the new Porsche Cayenne crossover is light alloy wheels with a new design, which in fact also distinguishes the new generation from the previous one. Depending on the configuration of the crossover, it can be based on 19 ″ wheels with 255/55 tires in front and 275/50 in the rear, or 21 ″ with tires 285/40 in front and 315/35 in the rear. By the way, the last 21 ″ option is more common. Optionally, you can install discs of 22 ″. In accordance with the status and class of the car, the braking system has been improved, ventilated disc brakes are installed in front and behind. In addition, brake pad wear sensors are installed on each wheel.

Safety and comfort systems

We can endlessly talk about the safety and comfort systems of the Porsche Cayenne crossover, since this is the main goal for a premium car. The new Cayenne will be able to surprise not only with excellent comfort, but also with a variety of assistance systems, both for the driver and passengers. Crossover systems include:
