After such an introduction, many thought that the Ku30 was the brainchild of the VAG and Infinity concern. But no. In general, this hatchback was conceived as a competitor to the A-class, Audi A3, BMW 3-Series. But the Japanese outwitted them all. They took the platform from the vastly superior GLA. And it's okay that the premium crossover suddenly became a premium hatchback on the other side of the world.
Indeed, four-wheel drive, ground clearance of 178 millimeters, and I must say that the Infiniti Ku30 surpasses its soplatform GLA in everything. The German, in comparison with the Japanese, loses in all respects, from design to multimedia. Moreover, in the land of the rising sun, they decided that they should not be limited to one MB only, it was necessary to assemble power units from all over the world. So, for example, here in the lineup you can find a 109-horsepower Renault engine, but for Russia it is not available.
Infiniti Q30 design
It has already been said above that the hatch is really good. The company promotes its design as unique and inimitable, all the same was previously shown to us by Mazda in the concept of Kodo. But let's not be too strict, because, despite this, it is pleasant to look at the new product. So, the front end is made in accordance with all the standards of the brand: a low long lip, a wide air intake in the center, small fog lights and a multifaceted shape. And these forms are not simple, as on most budget cars, a stylish designer with good taste really had a hand here.
The bonnet is sunken, curled huge wheel arches that are filled with wheels that range in size from 17 to 19 inches by specification. By the way, you can even find 16 inches in the soplatform. Optics is worthy of special attention. According to the manufacturer's idea, this is an eye, I must say very similar. The LED matrix is hidden here, which is able to look into the turn.
In profile, the new Infiniti Ku30 is most similar to Mazda, but to justify it, I want to say that the hatchback on the German chassis is distinguished by more aggressive forms, which immediately make you forget about the similarities. The wave-like shape, the sloping roof with a narrow glazing line - looks elegant, and in the rear you can see the small edges of the taillights.
The feed here, of course, is unlike anything else. The hatchback completely finished off all its competitors. There is so much expression, combined with grace and elegance. From here, the Infiniti Q30 looks downed, muscular, fit. The wide track merges smoothly into the narrow roof, and the continuation of the wave-like shapes can be seen here in the lanterns and the rim of the license plate. Immediately I would like to note the blunder of the designers, and indeed of the entire brand. Glossy black plastic is, of course, beautiful, it fully emphasizes the huge chrome tailpipes of the exhaust system, but it is very impractical, especially for our country.
Infinity Q30 interior
In the cabin, as befits a car of this class, luxury, beauty and style reign. Immediately I want to touch everything, feel everything (this is for those who talk about plastic - don’t touch, it will not disappoint). There are practically no plastic parts here - only leather, leather interior is already in the database.
Let's start in order, so we sat on the driver's seat and can adjust it as our heart desires, there are 17 adjustments in different directions, memory for two positions. There are many buttons on the steering wheel, not a single novelty, and under it there are paddle shifters. In sport mode, they help out a lot, more on that later.
The instrument panel differs from most in the vertical zero position of the arrows, and shines like a Christmas tree. Not like Renault, here the pointer temperature gauge is already in the basic configuration. A small display is installed in the center, showing the readings of many systems, for example, an on-board computer, a lane control system, road sign recognition, frontal collision avoidance, shows the distance to the car in front and many other things. Whether they are needed or not - everyone decides for himself.
The center console probably looks solid and strict, rather than somehow differently. There is a huge set of buttons that are clearly grouped, so there can be no confusion. The climate unit is located below, well, and all this is crowned with a large touchscreen display for multimedia and navigation. By the way, the multilevel dashboard looks just gorgeous.
The back row of seats does not differ in free space, it is molded for three people. The backrest can be folded. The maximum trunk volume, according to official figures, is 463 liters. Somehow not enough.
Infiniti Q30 Specifications
The hatchback, as already mentioned, borrowed the platform from the premium and fairly high-tech GLA. It helped the hatchback in every way. According to the designers, the main characteristic for them when adjusting the suspension and elements of the power plant was comfort and smoothness. For this, special shock absorbers with electric stiffness adjustments have been developed.
So, the first power unit that is offered in Russia (and for us, the line of motors has again been severely cut) is a 149-horsepower gasoline engine. By the way, in Europe it is declared as 156-strong, but oh well. This is a petrol turbo four, which rides exclusively on the AI-98 thoroughbred feed. The herd develops 250 Nm of torque. This, I must say, is enough to feel a smooth, but fast enough acceleration to hundreds in 9.2 seconds.
The maximum speed stopped at around 210 km / h. In the city, such an engine will consume 7.7 liters of gasoline; on the highway, no more than 6 liters will be required. Such a motor is paired with an uncontested 7-speed robotic gearbox with two wet clutches. One clutch here serves even gears, and the other - odd gears. The 1.6 engine is equipped with front-wheel drive only.
The second engine for the Russian market is a two-liter turbo four, also on gasoline. There are already 211 horses, 350 Nm of torque and 7.3 seconds to hundreds. If we estimate the mass of a car at one and a half tons, then it is very good. The top speed was 230 km / h, and the engine is not very hungry. In the combined cycle, he will need no more than 6.9 liters of gasoline.
Now about what we will never see. There is also a poltorashka with a capacity of 109 horses, it is diesel. Of course, the turbine was not without, so 260 Nm of torque is not news at all. But the consumption of 4.7 liters is quite pleasant, considering the acceleration to hundreds in 12 seconds and the maximum speed of 188 km / h. The best option for the city is very difficult to find.
Now more about the capacities. We are also talking about a diesel turbo four, which has an unusual volume of 2.1 liters and develops neither more nor less than 170 horses and 350 Nm. I must say, it's cool. Because acceleration to hundreds takes only 3 seconds, while the maximum speed will be 220 km / h. Not a bad result, especially when you take into account the fuel consumption of 5.1 liters of diesel fuel. And this is at Euro-6 standards.
Options and prices Infiniti Q30
For the Infiniti Q30, the price in Russia will be at least 2.3 million rubles. It will be a front wheel drive version with a 1.6 engine. Already there will be all parking sensors, a start-stop system, keyless entry, tire pressure sensors, heating of everything that is possible, servos in all mechanisms, leather interior, and, probably, the most pleasant thing, paddle shifters.
For 2.5 million, the buyer will receive the same, only with LED headlights, a 60-degree camera, as well as multimedia with Hi-Fi and voice control. The maximum configuration will cost 2.8 million. Its main feature is that the interior has a white color.This is probably all.
